Background of Yep Search Engine

About Yep.com

Dmitry Gerasimenko created Yep Search Engine, which was brought to life by the Ahrefs team.

Since 2010, Ahrefs has been crawling the whole web 24 hours a day, seven days a week, storing, indexing, and organising petabytes of data. So, Yep with the help of Ahrefs team developed one of the most comprehensive SEO toolkits in the world using this information.

Yep, the goal has always been to produce good goods faster than the giants while also leaving money in the community.

Yep is the brainchild of Dmitry Gerasimenko and was brought to life by the Ahrefs team.

Privacy Policy of Yep Search Engine

The privacy policy is what makes and destroys the company and if we look through the privacy policy it seems they have in brief words tried to scummed every kind of issue that users face with.

Yep says they do not gather or distribute any personal information about you. They won’t try to figure out who you are, and they won’t keep track of your search history.

The search engine is not based on any third-party search indexes. That is to say, Yep will not disclose your search query with any third-party services.

By default, Yep search engines do not utilise cookies. Cookies will only be used to store specific changes if you want to alter your settings.

Your search history, IP address, or User-Agent strings are not saved. They will use non-personal, aggregated search data to improve search algorithms, spell correction, and search suggestions, as well as aggregated statistical analysis.

To put it another way, the search engine does save certain information from searches, but never in a way that may be used to identify you. For example, Yep Search Engine keep track of how many times a word is searched for or where the most clicked link is located. However, we will not use your information to develop a profile for targeted advertising.

Shortcomings of Yep Search Engine Results

Although there are some disadvantages of using the Yep search engine for searching.

  • Outdated Results: Ahrefs Bot does not crawl websites for amended or updated content regularly, therefore search results may be outdated.
  • Local Search: This is where Google outperforms the competition. If you’re looking for a product in your neighbourhood, Google can help you find retailers that are close by (relying on Google Maps). Yep, local search is so bad that even putting your nation and city in the search keyword yields no results.
  • Permanent 301 redirects: Yep, does not respect permanent 301 redirects. It still shows outdated content.
  • News: Yep’s news section needs a lot of work or it will be removed. The news section’s search results have nothing to do with the search query.
  • Meta Tags and Structured Data: Meta tags and structured data are ignored by Yep. The descriptions on the website are incorrect.

Although, Yep Search Engine is quite fast compared to its competitors and its design is very clean and elegant. Also, there is no clear information on how the transactions will take place between the users and the company for sharing the ads revenue.

Lastly, Yep is not following or relying on the approach of search engines like Google and Bing. Time will show if this new era of the search engine is adaptable to the market and will be fruitful or not.
